Second flush Darjeeling is what all that spring growing was building toward — the harvest that earns the reverence. Cut at peak summer from gardens high in the Himalayan foothills, this tea carries a character that no amount of blending can replicate. Order it without milk. Let it tell you everything on its own.
Taste: Muscat grape is unmistakable — wine-like, distinctive, immediately recognizable to anyone who's had real Darjeeling. Stone fruit and dried wildflowers follow into a long, elegant finish. Amber in the cup and worth every quiet sip.
Ingredients: Darjeeling black tea, second flush (Himalayan foothills, India)
Steeping Guide:
1 heaping tsp.
6 oz. at 203–212° water
Steep 4–5 minutes
No milk — the muscatel disappears otherwise
